TEXTS ??? is more than what you think.. this is a text..
So, with the second part of unit 3. The idea of text has become so relevant in our lives because of one major aspect which is that everyone texts every single day. We have people who are young, middle-age and even older who are texting every single day. I have my grandfather texting me on a regular basis meanwhile years ago, he only ever used a flip phone. Times have changed but the main point is that texting has become a major part of everyone’s lives with the evolution of technology and phones. People would much rather text than speak on the phone, even posting a status, people are texting their status of how they feel onto social media. With the idea of texts also comes with the ideals of fonts and different types of ways to acquire attention for other people. For example, a lot of people who do YouTube or social media, if they have certain fonts that are different from the standard times new roman, it will gain attention of others such as the blow up font, different color fonts, or even different sizes play a major factor. Texts allow us to understand new information as well as allow others to learn what we are learning or understand what we are saying. Now when speaking with the way text can be enhanced or changed, it allows people to ultimately bring together a different way to show how text can be used. Text can also be symbols, or logos or even art and they all serve with a purpose to give someone the ability to project what they are saying or feeling to someone else as well as acquiring attention.
People will be quick to think that texts only involve the idea of reading, but in reality, texts are revolved everything we do. From reading a sign at the train station or reading a status on Facebook or reading an Instagram post, this is all related to the idea of reading texts. I know for fact that I read a bunch of texts every day and I know for myself the ones that are created differently and not just standard stand out to me and grab my attention. Now don’t get me wrong, simplicity can also be the best way to approach something depending, for example as mentioned in class this week about the Black Lives Matter in yellow on the street we discussed. It was simple and straight to the point and didn’t need any extra fonts or anything. Certain texts entitle certain situations and circumstances and one must be able to use the texts efficiently in this case.
